Become a Volunteer

Volunteering at the Institute is fun and rewarding!

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Ringling College (OLLI) is an independent, not-for-profit organization. We rely on the support of volunteers in many areas, and we offer thanks to those who quietly but regularly support us in ways too numerous to list.

Members of OLLI are invited to participate in many aspects of the Institute. We hope that through member volunteers, we will not only expand what we can accomplish in terms of classes and programs, but also increase the connection for OLLI members with everything we do through the Academy. Volunteering helps OLLI, but it can enrich your life, too: get to know your fellow students and meet new friends.

Volunteer opportunities are as Follows:

Committees

Special Events

Purpose: To assist in planning and managing the events of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Ringling College. This committee assists with lecture, Einstein and other event registration. All members must be active participants in the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Ringling College.

Curriculum

The Curriculum Committee is at the heart of the sometimes lengthy but always interesting process which identifies, reviews and selects the courses which will be offered at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Ringling College. All approved courses must fall within the Institute’s mission statement and are selected each term with an eye to presenting a balanced program of choices.  The committee is actively involved in identifying potential new courses as well as encouraging new instructors and supporting our valued established instructors.  Among the committee’s membership are Institute board members, course instructors, and students.
