W18-102 CAN MOVIES TEACH US HISTORY? PART 1

February 23 @ 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

W18-102 CAN MOVIES TEACH US HISTORY? PART 1
Friday: 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
1 Session: Feb. 23
TEMPLE BETH SHOLOM
Andre Krauss

In this workshop, we will examine our reliance on cinema to inform our knowledge of historical events. We will pose two central questions as part of our discussion: Does the entertainment media through film blur the distinction between fact and fiction? Are films a credible source to teach us history? War movies in general and Holocaust movies in particular make good case studies, and we will discuss them in this workshop.

Course Fee: $55; Member Fee: $49.
